People Not Reciprocating?

How do you deal with people who are using you and don’t really care about you?

Zachary, my son, always makes faces like this. He does not reciprocate well with autism. York, my partner, is joining him on the ‘fun’, reciprocating what Zach is giving 😂😍.

A friend of mine on Facebook wrote: 

(I) Ended what I thought was a lifelong friendship because they could call on me and admitted “ I knew you would come thru”… but (I) couldn’t get a response from them when I needed them.

I wrote back:

I am sorry you were not feeling well... 

For what your friends do for you or not do for you, just make sure you are not doing things for them and expecting anything in return. You know if you expect something in return if you are offended by them not returning the favor. In other words, your giving is with strings attached and is not a pure gift. 

AND if someone is in a pattern of abusing a relationship with you then definitely put up healthy boundaries BUT put them up for what is healthy for all, NOT from being offended. - The spirit in which you do something is AS  important as WHAT you do. ❤️
