Want Peace?
Alright, friends - who want peace?
Here is how I explained to someone how to get it. Enjoy!
Those unpeaceful moments we face are the gifts to make a decision to forcefully choose love over the hate you feel. When you choose that love, you pick up more peace automatically.🕊️ This is a photo of Rodin’s sculpture ‘Cathedral’.
Remember that EVERYTHING you experience is a gift to learn how to either hate or love more deeply.
It is a second-by-second choice and gifting. All around you and in you are the blessings of God manifested all the time. Go slow. Look for them.
Sometimes, the gifts don’t feel so good, but the ones that feel the worst have more opportunities for you to find true peace that cannot be shaken because the peace has been tested that you are seeking.
Choose peace even if everything inside of you and/or outside of you tries to tempt you to choose differently. Peace comes from hope. Hope can be found in finding a positive purpose for what you are going through.
How do you find that purpose? By making one up and holding on to it.

(I suggest making your purpose for you to be more loving, though, which will never let you down.) If your purpose lets you down and does not help you keep a vision of pushing through to becoming more loving, then go back to the drawing board and perfect your purpose. There is no peace without a clear purpose to grow love inside you and overflowing so that it naturally falls onto others. There is a Bible Scripture that says,
Proverbs 29:18 King James Version (KJV)
18 Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he.
Our vision IS our purpose. And the law is:
Matthew 22:34-40
34 But when the Pharisees heard that he had silenced the Sadducees, they gathered together. 35 And one of them, a lawyer, asked him a question to test him. 36 “Teacher, which is the great commandment in the Law?” 37 And he said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. 38 This is the great and first commandment. 39 And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. 40 On these two commandments depend all the Law and the Prophets.”
Our vision is LOVE. Our purpose is LOVE. - no matter what. The more we love under ALL circumstances, the more we are comforted by peace within ourselves.
Hey you- I know it sounds like loving others when they are not kind is unattainable. Please know you just have to try and also desire to be changed but God will use His power to help you too. He is more powerful than your weaknesses! And truly you do get more peace when you choose the love route over the bitterness route. 🥰
Isn’t it soooo hard to overcome our first knee-jerk reactions to be a jerk instead of doing things from love?
Ugh! Well, we all need to help one another remember what our purpose is in this life. What is that purpose?
Growing in knowing and feeling God’s love for you so much that it saturates you completely and then overflows onto anyone and anything around you!
